PR Fruit Art Reflection Journal

In this lab, I used all the tools I learned up so far to create a project of whatever I liked from the melon head picture. (Link: https://s1.jupiterfiles.com/u127981/617575051/LB2_Base.jpg ).  First off I opened Adobe Photoshop CC 2017. Once I opened Adobe Photoshop CC 2017, I clicked File on the Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 tab and clicked on New to create a new file. A window opened where I could name and create the setting for my project. I named my project PR Fruit Art, used the default settings, and clicked OK to start the new file. I clicked on File again to select Place Embedded. Once I clicked on Place Embedded, a window popped up showing me the files I could place into Adobe Photoshop CC 2017. I clicked on the melon head picture file and pressed OK to place the melon head picture onto Adobe Photoshop CC 2017. Second off, I zoomed into the blueberry by holding Command and pressing the Plus key a few times. I then clicked on the rectangular marquee tool to show a tab which I clicked on the elliptical marquee tool to select it. I moved the mouse to the upper left hand corner of the blueberry, clicked and dragged the mouse to the bottom right hand corner of the blueberry, and released my mouse button. I next clicked on the magic wand tool. I moved my mouse back to the blueberry and held options on the Macintosh keyboard to click on the empty space that is selected on the blueberry to delete the empty space on the area. I right clicked on the selected area to press Layer Via Copy to make a new layer with only the blueberry. I did the same thing with the carrot slice. I selected the rectangular marquee tool, clicked and dragged the mouse from the top left hand corner of the kiwi to the bottom right hand corner to make a box around the kiwi. I clicked and selected the magic wand tool. I held down the options key and clicked on the empty space surrounding the kiwi that is inside the box. I right clicked on the kiwi to select Layer Via Copy to make a new layer with only the kiwi. After that I clicked on the lasso tool to select it to make the selection for the macaroni bow tie. I started on the left corner of the macaroni bow tie and outlined the macaroni bow tie until I got to the right corner of the macaroni bow tie. While still holding the mouse button, I held down the Options key on the Macintosh keyboard to outline the rest of the macaroni bow tie. I right clicked on the macaroni and selected Layer Via Copy to create a new layer with only the macaroni bow tie. Afterwards, I clicked on the lasso tool which showed a tab, I selected the magnetic lasso tool, and I moved the mouse to the mushroom. I outlined most of the mushroom by tracing the edges of the mushroom. I selected the magic wand tool from the toolbar. I held down the options key on the Macintosh keyboard and clicked on the area to delete the selected area I wanted to delete on the mushroom. I right clicked on the mushroom to select Layer Via Copy to have only one layer with only the mushroom. After that I selected the Magic Wand tool again and outlined the red flesh of the grapefruit. I right clicked on the red flesh of the grapefruit and selected Layer Via Copy to make a layer of only the red flesh of the grapefruit in it. Next I selected the Rectangular Marquee tool again. I clicked and dragged the mouse from the top left hand corner of the radishes to the bottom right hand corner. I selected the Magic Wand tool again, held down Options on the Macintosh keyboard, and clicked on the empty space surrounding the radishes to subtract it to make a selection only on the radish. I right clicked on the radishes to select Layer Via Copy to make a new layer only showing the radishes. I did the same thing with the melon. I duplicated the melon, radishes, red flesh of grapefruit, macaroni bow tie, blueberry, carrot slices, and mushrooms to have 2 melons, 2 radishes, 2 macaroni bow ties, 2 kiwis, 4 red fleshes of grapefruit, 4 blueberries, 4 carrot slices, and 6 mushrooms in total. I used the paintbrush and paint bucket on the kiwis, macaroni bow tie, and melon to change the color of the fruits as well as the saturation/hues button. I saved after that. Third of all, I clicked on the Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 tab to select edit. I rotated, flipped, and enlarged the fruits to fit my desired look on the project. I clicked on the Move tool to move the fruits onto the desired spot. I rasterized all the layers. I merged all the layer by right clicking on a layer and clicking merge down. Lastly, once all the layers have been merged until one final layer has been created I used the move tool to place my creation in the middle. I saved my project. Knowing how to use Photoshop is important because it helps the person understand how their projects artistically shape the observer's mind and can get job opportunities by knowing Photoshop.
