In this lab, I used blending options for layer styles and for texts. First up on how I did it, I opened Adobe Photoshop CC 2017. Second off, I clicked on File on the Photoshop bar and clicked on New to open a window that shows the settings for the Photoshop document. Thirdly, I set the settings to default and clicked OK. Next I clicked on the Text tool. I then clicked and dragged my mouse on the Photoshop document to create a textbox from top left to bottom right. I typed in my name in the textbox which was Wei Jian Zhen. After that I right clicked on the text layer to select blending options. A window popped up which showed me the settings for blending options for layers styles which appeared every time I clicked on blending options. Afterwards, I selected Bevel and Emboss for the text layer to place that layer style on the text which made lighter and darker tones or colors to the texts. Furthermore, I created another textbox just like the first one and typed in my name again. I right clicked on the second layer to click on blending options. I selected Bevel and Emboss and Stroke to make the text have an outline. Therefore, I created another identical textbox and typed in my name in it. I duplicated the layer 3 times to get a total of 6 textbox layers. I moved all the textboxes to its selected areas so that the texts are readable. For the third textbox, I right clicked on its layer and clicked on blending options. I selected Bevel and Emboss, Stroke, Inner Shadow, and Inner Glow. For the fourth box, I right clicked on its layer to click on blending options. I selected Satin to the text layer to make the text blend with another color. I right clicked on the fifth layer to click on blending options again. I selected Color Overlay to place a color different from the text color. I right clicked on the last layer to click on blending options. I selected Pattern Overlay, Outer Glow, and Drop Shadow to place a entirely different color onto the text with a shadow with the text. Finally, I saved my project. Knowing how to use blending options can be useful for web designers because you can be able to create logos for yourself or for others. Another way that knowing how to use blending options can be useful is when you have to create ads which creating colors and patterns for texts can attract viewers to see those ads. Furthermore, you can write books that use blending options to create stylized effects or wacky ways to emphasize your texts and sentences. It could especially be useful in children's books because of the emphasized theme of children's books. Words like KAPPO or WAZOOM could be decorated in blending options to further emphasize their meaning. Also, web designers could make art out of blending options because of the different styles to texts. For example, web designers could make a zebra pattern of their words with a rainbow coloration along with whatever else they had created for their art. They could use the text with blending options as the art itself too!
