WBL Seminar #1 Reflection Journal

On the 22nd of January 2018, I attended a seminar at Noble Desktop 594 Broadway, Unit 1202, New York, 10012, United States to complete a Workshop Based Learning Requirement (W.B.L.) for my Career and Technical Education (C.T.E.) Diploma. Now at the seminar, there was a good number of attendees that were at the Noble Desktop seminar. There was a big screen connected to a computer that allowed people to see the lesson plan the employees had to teach. There was refreshments and comfy seats which all attendees sat on too. The Noble Desktop employee talked about Intro to After Effects, which was a animation and film program that Adobe brought and tweaked from the Aldus Corporation. The employee talked about how to use the program. how to animate a logo, and the basics to After Effects. I learned that you have to put emphasis into your animations to make them stand out better and more visually appealing. I learned that regular shortcuts that work in other Adobe software do not work in After Effects. I also learned that timing your frames is an important part to animation because it can make your animation convey different meanings based on the timing of the animations/artwork. It is important to study so that you can become a better graphic designer. Now there were some positive things and negative things about the seminar. The positive things were that there was a streamlined and smooth presentation for the attendees at the seminar. There was an exceptional speaker that presented the seminar very well. Furthermore, there were comfy seats to sit on. The negative things at the seminar were that the seminar was slightly dull and complex especially for a person who knew nothing about After Effects. Now after the 2 hour seminar ended, I got up from my seat and went back home.
