Project 3 Logos Reflection Journal

In this lab, I used Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 to create 9 logos. First off, I opened up Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 and clicked on File to New to create a new document. Secondly I selected the Ellipse tool from the Adobe Illustrator Toolbox. I created a circle with even proportions and made the circle orange with the color picker panel. Thirdly, I created a triangle with the Polygon tool. I tilted the triangle so that one end pointed towards the center of the circle. I made the triangle white so it looked like a mouth for the circle. I made smaller triangles for teeth and placed it inside the white triangle. Next, I created rectangles that had no stroke and white fill. I placed the rectangles over the ends of the white triangle so that the white triangle looked like a more realistic mouth. Then, I created a snake in a tooth. I used the Rounded Rectangular tool to create the tooth, Polygon tool for the snake's body, Ellipse tool for the snake's eyes and head, Rectangle tool for the tongue, and a white strokeless triangle to make the tongue jagged. After that, I created black cable wires with the Polygon tool. Therefore, I created 2 evenly proportional rounded rectangular shapes one with blue and one with green as controllers. I selected the ellipse tool,  held shift, clicked, and dragged the mouse to make proportional circles as the buttons and control stick tops for the controllers. I clicked on the Rounded Rectangular tool, clicked, held, and dragged the mouse to create the Rounded Rectangles for the control stick. I clicked on the Type tool select it. I typed in the letters W and G for the controllers. I positioned all the shapes together so that my first iconic logo is completed. Now to the second iconic logo. First I clicked on File from the Illustrator bar and clicked on New from the File tab. A window popped up showing the settings of the document and I set it to default settings. I named the new document "Iconic 2" and clicked OK to confirm it. Secondly, I clicked on the Ellipse tool to select it. I held shift, clicked, held, and dragged the mouse diagonally downwards to create a proportional circle. I gone to the color panel to make the circle purple. I clicked on the Polygon tool to select the tool and made a triangle. I had the triangle white, strokeless, and one point pointing to the side of the middle of the purple circle. I made smaller triangles as teeth with a black stroke and white fill, putting them inside the bigger white triangle. I developed the snake's body that was attached to the circle by clicking and dragging the mouse diagonally. I clicked on the direct selection tool to drag the outlines of the polygonal shapes to the shape that I desired. I clicked on the Ellipse tool. I clicked, held shift, held the mouse button, and dragged diagonally to create the snake's head and eyes. I clicked on the Rectangle tool to create a red rectangle for the snake's tongue by clicking and dragging the mouse diagonally. I created rounded rectangles for the controllers by clicking and dragging the mouse from the top left to bottom right. Thirdly, I created smaller rounded rectangles for the control sticks of the controllers. I clicked on the Ellipse tool and developed the buttons and top part of the control stick for the controllers as circles. I clicked on the Rectangular tool to select it. I clicked and dragged diagonally down to create 2 rectangles for the D-Pad. I typed in the letters W and G on the controllers via the Type tool. I made the purple cable wires by using the Polygon tool. I rearranged the shapes to have my 2nd iconic logo. For the 3rd iconic logo, I first made a circle just like the previous logos this time purple. I made another circle that was red for the mouth. I clicked on the Rectangular tool, made the shape strokeless, clicked, and dragged the mouse to make a rectangle that makes the mouth open.  I clicked on the Polygon tool to create small triangles for the teeth and put them inside the red circle. I used the Ellipse tool to create the eyes for the iconic logo with 2 white circles and 2 black circles. I made a purple rectangle connecting the circle by clicking and dragging the mouse while having the Rectangular tool selected. I made a snake inside the existing shape by using the Rectangular tool, Ellipse tool, and the Polygon tool like the previous logo. I created a box using the Rectangular tool and with the letters W and G on it connecting to the shape. I created 2 vertical lines from the box to the controller. I clicked and dragged the mouse while having the Rounded Rectangular tool selected to create the outlines of the controller. I also created the control stick with the Rounded Rectangular tool. I used the Rectangular tool the make the D-pad of the controller. I selected the Ellipse tool and made circles for the buttons of the controller.  I created the necessary adjustments for Iconic Logo 3 and saved the document. I clicked on File to New to create a new document. I clicked on the Pen tool. I clicked and dragged the mouse at certain points of the document to create the word "Welegames". I made the W blue, first E orange, L purple, second E yellow, G green, A ruby red, M light green, third E violet, and S dark green. I saved the document as my 4th logo. I did the same as the previous logo but this time W is red, first E orange, L yellow, second E light green, G green, A light blue, M blue, third E dark blue, and S purple. For the third text logo, I replicated the steps of the previous logo but this time the first E is violet, L is orange, second E is purple, G yellow, A blue, M light green, third E light blue, and S cyan. I saved the document. For the Combination Logos which are the last 3, I used the Pen tool, Direct Selection tool, and the Shape tool. I clicked and dragged the mouse using the Pen tool from one point to the next point to create the W and A. I used the Direct Selection tool to curve the lines of the W and A. I clicked on the Ellipse tool from the Shape tool to create orange E's. I created triangles for the E's to have a mouth and teeth. I clicked on the Rectangular tool to create a 3D image of the L. I used the shape tool to make the controller as the G and the box connecting the G. I used the Pen tool to create the M and the S. Now to the next Combination Logo, I used the Pen tool to create the W and the A. I clicked on the Direct Selection tool to select it and made the lines of the W and A curved. I used the Rectangular tool to create the 3D L. I clicked and dragged the mouse to make the rectangles for the L. I selected the Ellipse tool. I clicked and dragged the mouse to make a circle. I selected the Rounded Rectangular tool. I clicked and dragged the mouse to make a rounded rectangle. I combined the circle and the rounded rectangle together to make a pillar. I created triangles by the Polygon tool and combined them with the pillar to make the M. I made a snake for the S. I selected the Pen tool for the body and the Shape tool for the head like the previous logo. I made the body of the snake slightly darker than the previous S. I made the controller for the G with the Pen tool, Direct Selection tool, and Shape tool. Finally, the 3rd combination logo. I did the same as the previous logo with some minor changes. I had eyes on the E's and the box is above the controller. I saved all of the documents. Knowing how to use Adobe Illustrator CC is important to web designers because it helps you on your career and helps you create artworks that is more time consuming that other types of mediums.
