MET Homework

Today on 11/24/2019, I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to find a piece of art to do this reflection journal about. The art I decided to choose was called the "Tea Bowl with Rising Sun and Crane" made by the artist Eiraku Hozen (Image Below). The art is a bowl with a crane flying behind the sun. It is made out of gold, silver, and polychrome enamels. The art piece was made during the mid-19th century in Japan. The colors used are red, white, black, yellow, and dark green. The use of negative space and lighting helps draw attention to the crane at the center top of the sun.
